The Boat Building Academy is a recognised centre of learning excellence.\n\nNumbers for this exceptiona l learning opportunity are strictly limited to just 8 students\, so please act promptly to reserve your place.\n\nWho should attend?\n- Students who are studying to be a marine surveyor\n- Marine surveyors who are new to t he profession\n\nThis 5-day course is being held at the Boat Building Acad emy facility in Lyme Regis\, Dorset\, UK\, from 7-11 December 2026.\n\nStu dents who are enrolled in the IIMS Yacht &\; Small Craft Professional Q ualification may claim attendance at the course as one module.\n\nThe Boat Building Academy tutors are highly experienced and will host the event on behalf of IIMS. The content is based on two days of wooden boat theory\, to include discussions on faults in wooden boats and typical issues\, foll owed by three days of FRP/GRP with some practical work\, including hand la y-ups and repairs\, and will cover faults in FRP/GRP\, including osmosis.
