Join the IIMS Large Yacht & Small Craft Working Group for what looks like being a fascinating day on Monday 18 February 2019. In the morning the group will be touring the Sunseeker factory and facility in Poole to get a greater insight into how the vessels are constructed and what the future for Sunseeker looks like as they prepare to move to metal hull production as well as GRP. After lunch which is served at the neighbouring RNLI headquarters, the group will continue the day with a series of presentations.
The provisional schedule is:
10.00 Meet and assemble at the Sunseeker factory at Sunseeker Wharf, West Quay Road, Poole, Dorset BH15 1HW
12.30 Sunseeker tour concludes
12.45 Buffet lunch served in the RNLI headquarters at West Quay Road, Poole, Dorset BH15 1HZ
13.45 Mike Schwarz – IIMS update
14.10 Malcom Stewart (A-Plan Marine Insurance) will present case studies and hold a Q&A session
14.55 Giles Waterhouse (Marine Results) will speak about composite NDT testing for hulls and masts
15.40 RNLI surveyors, James Turreff and Ben Williams, will discuss condition based maintenance surveys and how they are conducted for both machinery and hull items.
