Your host and presenter for this seminar is Capt Andrew (Drew) Korek. Based between Vancouver and the UK, Drew is acknowledged as both an experienced marine surveyor and diver, having spent many years in the Royal Navy. He has a passion for diving, with commercial diving inshore and offshore experience, but is also only too aware of its potential dangers too.
In and under water surveys present a set of unique challenges for the surveyor, not least engaging a competent diving contractor. In ‘Marine Surveyors and inwater surveys – What you need to know’, Drew will give an overview of the following:
– Types of inwater surveys and inspection
– Criteria for selecting a suitable and qualified diving contractor
– Inspection diver interview and briefing prior the survey
– Safety issues and risk assessment
– Best working practice and techniques
– Video and photography in underwater application
– Permanent and temporary repairs
