Introduction to yacht coatings by Tim Bannister Tech IIMS, AIOSH

Tim Bannister, Technical Support Specialist, is employed by well known paint and coatings manufacturer AkzoNobel. He has spoken at IIMS events before and delegates have been impressed with his breadth of knowledge on the subject of coatings in general. Tim was the very first candidate to qualify as a Registered Marine Coatings Inspector when the international qualification started in 2014.

His current responsibilities include:
– Management of the AkzoNobel Southampton training facility
– New product development and trials
– Specialising in air atomized and high pressure, electrostatic and plural hot feed application methods.
– Developing new technology and application processes

In his spare time he volunteers for the Rona Sailing Trust where he puts his expertise to good use.

The aim of Tim’s presentation is to give general surveyors more knowledge in the area specifically of paint coatings for yachts by explaining the theory and process and giving some practical tips on the most common paint faults to look for.

Who should attend?
This online seminar will be of help to those who are less experienced in the area of paint coatings and knowing what they are surveying as well as acting as a refresher for more experienced surveyors keen to understand this subject better.
