Our Practical Surveying Course could be just the ticket for you.
This four-day residential programme being held at the Portchester, UK, aims to offer delegates practical, hands-on surveying experience.
For the first three days, IIMS senior and experienced surveyors will assist and guide you in inspecting and surveying three different boats, as well as discussing toolkit requirements and how to use them. The surveyors are also be on hand throughout the three days to answer any questions you may have about inspections or the surveying profession in general.
The final morning will be dedicated to an in-depth lecture on report writing, which will offer tips and advice, delivered in person by IIMS CEO, Mike Schwarz. The programme concludes in an assessed test where you will write a scaled down report on one of the vessels you inspected during the course. This is done via an online platform and should be completed at a later date once you are back home and have had time to take in all you have learned. Don’t worry, it’s not a pass/fail mark; instead, you’ll receive useful feedback to help you with your future career.
