
You are invited to join IIMS for a day of knowledge sharing on the subject of rigs, masts and sails.
The day starts 09:30 at the Seldén Mast Ltd, Lederle Lane, Gosport, Hampshire PO13 0FZ, where you will be met by IIMS.
As an online-only delegate wishing to participate in the afternoon masterclass, this will start at 13:45.
Seldén Mast is the UK subsidiary of the world’s largest manufacturer of mast and rigging systems, specializing in aluminium and carbon fibre spars for dinghies, keelboats, and yachts up to 82ft. As a major facility, it produces, designs, and distributes, holding a strong reputation for high-performance, custom rigs used by Olympic sailors and leading boat brands.
Delegates will be given a rare tour of the production facility and a presentation from technical members of the Seldén Mast team.
A maximum of 20 in-person delegates only for the morning session is permitted.
12:30 Lunch will be provided at The Golf Club at Cams Hall Estate, Portchester Road, Portchester, Fareham PO16 8UP. A cold buffet lunch with tea and coffee is offered.

13:45 to 16:15 Stay at the Golf Club after lunch for a keynote presentation by Kim Skov-Nielsen, an expert in the rigs, masks and sails sector and a published author on this subject – Rig Basics: How to Look After Your Mast, Rigging and Sails was written by him. Kim is a hugely experienced round-the-world yachtsman and active marine surveyor. This book provides a concise, informative and clearly-written outline of what an owner or operator must take into consideration when looking after the mast, rigging and sails. It is also a highly useful guide to what a surveyor should be looking at when surveying a rig.
The whole day in-person cost is £210 (no VAT).
The afternoon’s presentation and masterclass by Kim is offered to online delegates to join remotely by Zoom at a cost of £125 (no VAT).
