09:30 – 10:30 Update on IIMS activities by Mike Schwarz.
10:30 – 11.30 Surveyor ethics by Bill Weyant.
11:40 – 13:00 Things you see on survey that you can’t make up by Geoff Waddington (IIMS Past President).
13:00 – 14:00 Lunch.
14:00 – 15:00 AI chatbots, GPTS and the marine surveyor by Craig Norton, InspectX.
15:00 to 17:00 Introduction to the MCA Sport or Pleasure Vessel Code presented remotely by Fraser Noble, IIMS Certifying Authority Chair.
Dinner to be arranged locally.
Day 2 will run from 9:15 until 13:00
09:15 – 10:45 Coding made simple. Sharing ideas to make life easier for surveyors and small craft operators by Roland Perry.
10:45 – 12.00 The inspection and sea-trialling of engines and how this is done in liaison with the surveyor during a typical pre-purchase exercise. An example of an interesting case will be demonstrated, followed by advice for the surveyor on what should be taken into aspects of the machinery should be considered by Marine Engineer Andreas Pfahler. Andreas has an encyclopaedic knowledge of engines, transmission systems, and their controls and maintains rigorous ongoing training with leading manufacturers.
12:00 – 13:00 Lithium-ion battery fires. What we know so far. A non-technical presentation by Mike Schwarz.
13:00 Close and depart.
