Fires and collisions account for the largest losses according to Cefor

The Nordic Association of Marine Insurers (Cefor) has released its 2024 hull trends from the Nordic Marine Insurance Statistics (NoMIS), highlighting the rise of machinery damage in an ageing fleet, whilst fires and collisions account for the largest losses.

The Nordic Association of Marine Insurers (Cefor) has published its 2024 Ocean Hull and Coastal Hull reports, based on the Nordic Marine Insurance Statistics (NoMIS) database.

IACS publishes 2024 Annual Review

IACS, the membership organisation for the world’s leading classification societies, has published its 2024 Annual Review, which highlights the central role played by IACS in supporting safety standards in global shipping.

In a year that marked the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the SOLAS Convention, safety was at the forefront of IACS’s work programme for 2024. ABS Port State Control 2024 Q4 Report

ABS Port state q4 2024 ABS has released its latest Quarterly Port State Control (PSC) Report which provides information about deficiencies identified on ABS vessels during inspections carried out by the various PSC regimes globally during the last quarter of 2024.

There were 465 total detained vessels in the fourth quarter per Paris MoU, Tokyo MoU and USCG. Of those detained, only 22 vessels were ABS classed vessels. This report highlights U.S. domestic fleet inspection, deficiency, and marine casualty statistics and serves as a powerful tool that highlights trends, identifies key performance indicators, and draws attention to findings over the past calendar year.
