IIMS is the leading worldwide professional body for the marine surveying profession. Our membership is increasing steadily in Türkiye, in keeping with the country’s growing marine industry, and we have seen an uplift in the number of students studying for a Professional Qualification in marine surveying with IIMS.
For our first time in Türkiye, we are planning two training events to take place back-to-back. The first one is on 3-4 November, the other on 5 November. We have yet to finalise a central Bodrum hotel where both training events will take place.
2-day YCTI Training Course (3-4 November 2026)
IIMS launched the Yacht Coating Technical Insight course (a subset of RMCI) Registered Marine Coatings Inspector a few years ago. Since then, dozens of personnel and project teams from a number of shipyards, including some well-known names involved in building large yachts and superyachts, and others, have attended the training.
Put simply, the two-day in-person course is aimed at those who need to know more about coatings and paint projects without becoming an expert.

The course is delivered in English by two acknowledged experts in the field of large yacht coatings, Ken Hickling and Rory Marshall.
The cost for both YCTI training days, including a detailed handbook, lunch, and refreshments, an online knowledge quiz, and a certificate of attendance, is £895 (equivalent to approximately 59,000 Turkish Lira).
The course is limited to a maximum of 15 delegates, so early booking is recommended.

One day IIMS training day for marine surveyors – (5 November 2026)
IIMS Chief Executive Officer, Mike Schwarz, will host the event in person and looks forward to welcoming members as well as non-members. The event is open to all and is a great opportunity to network with other surveyors and marine industry personnel.

The cost for the day, including lunch and refreshments, is £110 (approximately 7,200 Turkish Lira), slightly discounted for online only delegates.
If you can’t get to Bodrum in person for this event, you can join as an online delegate via Zoom. There is no maximum number who can attend.
